Medical TV Show Review: HawthoRNe
Medical TV Show Review: Hawthorne
HawthoRNe: This nurse-centric Jada series was strangely set in exotic Richmond, Virginia. It tried very hard to make nurses seem cool, yet ended up making them seem mean, petty, and underhanded – especially in the third season. Has the honor of being one of the first YouTube Extremely Low Budget Medical Drama shorts we tried out.
Medical TV Show Review: HawthoRNe
Date/Seasons: 2009-2011, 3 seasons, 30 episodes
Main cast: Jada Pinkett-Smith, Michael Vartan, Marc Anthony
Premise: A hardworking conceited nurse spends three seasons telling all doctors how much better she is than everyone else. She also cheats on Michael Vartan. Who cheats on Michael Vartan?!?!
Pros: They really tried to bring a nurse’s perspective to the viewpoint character and get a strong female character as the main. Michael Vartan looks really attractive as her love interest/boss/surgeon and needed to make some money after Alias ended.
Cons: Nurse HawthoRNe is the WORST. She goes behind the doctors’ backs, visits patients at home, steals medical equipment, and cheats on her husband. The other female characters are expected to support her event though in reality they would absolutely despise her self righteous BS.
Overall Impression: Watch Season 1 and 2 if you need some hot Jada and Michael Vartan action. Skip Season 3 or rip out your eyes.
